Allow the Body to Find Balance
What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu is a form of bodywork that originated in Japan and is rooted in Chinese Medicine (CM). It combines gentle pressure, stretches and relaxed movement to restore the natural flow of vital energy in the body. This vital energy – known as Ki in Shiatsu and Qi in CM – can become blocked or depleted. Shiatsu aims to release and replenish the Ki of the receiver, helping the body return to its natural state of balance. The practice considers the being as a whole, addressing not only the physical body but also the emotional and spiritual aspects of wellbeing. Shiatsu can be used both to support overall health and relaxation, and to help with a wide range of specific concerns.
About Me
My name is Anya-Grace Abram and I was moved to study Shiatsu as I have experienced its many benefits for my own health and wellbeing throughout my life. The depth of this practice continues to amaze me every day and I am grateful to be able to use Shiatsu to support others. I am qualified in Acupressure and Bodywork for Wellbeing – you can find me on the Wellbeing Practitioner register of the Shiatsu Society UK – and I am currently completing my Zen Shiatsu Diploma at The Shiatsu College Norwich. I offer treatments both in Norwich and Sheffield so feel free to get in touch via the button below if you have any questions or would like to arrange an appointment.
